Today, Governor Ron DeSantis takes his flailing shadow campaign for president to South Carolina, marking his first visit to the state as South Florida continues to suffer from massive gas shortages following severe flooding due to once in a thousand years rainfall.
As the Governor criss-crosses the country, DeSantis Watch, a project of DW PAC, is ensuring that Americans know his real record, which has led to an affordability crisis gripping the state.
In order to introduce Ron to the people of South Carolina, DeSantis Watch has placed a five-figure digital ad buy of “Rising,” which highlights the rising cost of housing, property insurance, and utility rates in Florida while the Governor does favors for his billionaire and corporate elite donors.
This digital ad buy in South Carolina follows a five-figure radio ad buy of “Snowbirds” in New Hampshire over the weekend that coincided with the Governor’s first visit to the Granite State. That ad highlighted the harsh realities of skyrocketing costs in Florida for families seeking to move to the state.
“As Ron DeSantis increasingly spends his time outside the state he was elected to serve, it is vital that all Americans know what his actual blueprint for Florida has meant here at home,” said DeSantis Watch Communications Director Anders Croy. “In Ron DeSantis’ Florida, our housing costs have increased faster than anywhere else in the country, we are paying three times the national average for property insurance, and our utility rates are skyrocketing by double digits every few months. The truth is Ron DeSantis is only concerned with helping his billionaire and corporate elite donors who have seen their profits soar while workers and seniors in Florida have fallen behind. South Carolinians cannot afford Ron DeSantis and neither can the rest of the country.”
