From his early days as a founding member of the far-right “Freedom” Caucus to his shameless pandering to former President Donald Trump to his current position as authoritarian-in-chief of the state of Florida, Ron DeSantis has proven that the only constituents safe from his political bullying are the powerful billionaires and corporate elites who fund his campaigns.
As Ron’s poll numbers continue to tank the more time he spends on the campaign trail, DeSantis Watch, a project of DW PAC, is releasing a new digital video titled “Threat” that traces his rise from obscurity to the present day in order to further highlight to the American people that their freedom is at stake under a DeSantis presidency.

Throughout his political career, Ronald Dion DeSantis has relentlessly attacked our freedoms.
But who is Ron DeSantis?
As a Congressman, Ron was a founding member of the far-right so-called Freedom Caucus, members of the United States House of Representatives who pride themselves on their right-wing extremism.
After claiming to be a small government conservative, Ron followed the shifting political tides, adopting the divisive and extreme ideas of his new hero: Donald Trump.
Ron became a fixture on Fox News, expressing his devotion to Trump at every turn, finding no scandal or racist, sexist remark too awful to defend.
After shamelessly giving up his dignity to the former president, Ron finally got what he wanted: Trump’s endorsement of his run for Florida governor.
But it was a trick.
Ron DeSantis used Donald Trump to continue his climb up the political ladder.
Ron only cares about one thing: his own political ambition.
As Governor, he attacked reproductive freedom, signing a near-total abortion ban.
He has attacked the freedom to vote, putting in place an Elections Police Force in support of the Big Lie and gerrymandered Congressional maps that favor his own party.
He attacked the health and safety of the LGBTQ+ community, putting them in harm’s way to appeal to the furthest fringes of the extreme right.
He has attacked our freedom to an affordable way of life.
Property insurance rates in Florida have skyrocketed under Ron DeSantis while he does the bidding of his billionaire and corporate donors who jack up the cost of housing and electricity while keeping our wages low.
Our freedom to learn is under assault, as Ron bans books and the teaching of honest history to indoctrinate students with his preferred worldview.
All the while he slashes funding to our public schools to give handouts to millionaires and billionaires who send their children to corporate schools.
Now he has put our freedom to be safe at risk with a dangerous law allowing for the permitless carry of hidden, loaded guns in our communities.
With our democracy under attack, there is no greater threat to all of our freedoms than Ron DeSantis.
Now is the time to fight back.
We must all stand together to protect our freedoms from Ron DeSantis.
Because we all deserve our version of the American Dream.
