TALLAHASSEE — Today, the Florida Legislature finally gavelled out of the 2025 Legislative Session sine die, leaving Lame Duck Governor Ron DeSantis, in Paris for a vacation, on the outside looking in at a session that showed the waning limits of his power in Tallahassee.
In response, DeSantis Watch Communications Director Anders Croy released the following statement:
“This year we saw what was a truly terrible, horrible, no good, very bad Legislative Session for Lame Duck Ron, but unlike the children’s book character, Floridians should not count on their Governor learning any lessons in humility from his utter failure to have any influence on the lawmaking process in Tallahassee.
“As the Governor enjoys a taxpayer-funded Paris vacation, millions of his constituents remain in desperate need of relief from the high costs his agenda of working for the corporate elite has created in Florida.
“What this year’s broken process has made clear is that while Ron DeSantis has spent the last few months whining about the Legislature bringing accountability to his lawless administration, Floridians will continue to be left behind as they deal with the affordability crisis that his ‘Florida Blueprint’ has created for working families and seniors in our state.”
