TALLAHASSEE — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed state Senator Blaise Ingoglia (R-Spring Hill) to the vacant position of Chief Financial Officer.
In response, DeSantis Watch Communications Director Anders Croy released the following statement:
“Floridians have been crushed by predatory insurance corporations who have been jacking up their rates and refusing to pay legitimate claims and they need a Chief Financial Officer who will actually do the job of holding them accountable when they take advantage of policyholders.
“Instead of a champion for working families and seniors, Floridians will now be stuck with Ron DeSantis’ handpicked choice, an insurance industry lackey in Blaise Ingoglia who gave the same corporations price-gouging policyholders $3 billion in taxpayer-funded handouts while making it almost impossible for them to sue when their claims were denied.
“Blaise Ingoglia is nothing more than a spineless political climber, who admittedly kissed the butt of the Governor on his way up the ladder to a job he is wholly unqualified to hold in order to do favors for their corporate elite donors in the insurance industry.”
