Later this evening, Governor Ron DeSantis will take the debate stage in California to once again highlight his extreme record of banning abortion and books while ignoring that he has done nothing to combat the affordability crisis he created in Florida.
In order to ensure voters get the full picture of his record instead of letting him punt it under the table, DeSantis Watch, a project of DW PAC, will be launching digital display ads geofencing a one mile radius around the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library during the debate warning against letting Governor DeSantis Kick Up Your Costs if he were to become president.
During Ron DeSantis’ time as Governor:
- The cost of property insurance in Florida has increased by 206%, with an average increase of 42% in the last year alone, leaving Floridians now paying four times the national average.
- Auto insurance rates in Florida have increased 25% in the last year and Floridians now pay almost twice the national average for their premiums.
- Florida is the nation’s inflation hotspot, due largely to the unaddressed housing crisis driving up costs across the state.
“Ron DeSantis is barking up the wrong tree if he thinks he can bury his failing economic record here in Florida,” said DeSantis Watch Communications Director Anders Croy. “Under Ron DeSantis, Floridians continue to suffer through an affordability crisis as he kicks up their costs on everything from property and auto insurance to housing. Americans simply cannot afford Ron DeSantis’ disastrous economic record and that’s why voters across the country have put his campaign for president in the doghouse where it belongs.”
